🌍 Flag facts
The white emblem is the national emblem of Oman: a curved dagger called a khanjar in its belt, crossed with two swords. The khanjar is worn on special occasions and is a proud symbol of Oman.
The red stands for battles fought in Oman's history, the white for peace, and the green for the fertile land and the green hills of the Jebel Akhdar mountains.
Oman is a country in the Middle East, on the Arabian Peninsula. It has golden deserts, rugged mountains and a long coastline on the Arabian Sea.
Oman is famous for frankincense, a sweet-smelling tree resin traded for thousands of years, and for its forts, camels and wooden sailing boats called dhows.
