Our emblem is simplified. The real one shows a mosque inside a wreath of wheat with writing above and below — far too detailed to colour at this size!
Afghanistan has changed its flag more times than any other country — over 20 different designs in the last 100 years.
This design was the national flag from 2013 to 2021. Since 2021, a different flag — white with black writing — has been flown in Afghanistan.
Black stands for the past, red for independence, and green for hope for the future.
