Belize has the busiest emblem of any national flag, so it is simplified here to the circle, the wreath and the shield — everything left out is explained below.

🌍 Flag facts
Belize has the only national flag in the world with people on it — two woodcutters, one holding an axe and one a paddle. They stand either side of the shield on the real flag.
The ring around the circle is a wreath of 50 leaves, chosen for the year 1950, when Belize's push for independence began.
The shield shows tools from the mahogany logging trade and a ship, because that industry shaped the country's early history.
Belize has the second-largest barrier reef in the world, after Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
