The four stars and four stripes both stand for the four main islands of the Comoros.
Mount Karthala, one of the world's most active volcanoes, towers over the biggest island.
The Comoros are called the Perfume Islands — their ylang-ylang flowers are used in famous perfumes.
The green triangle and crescent represent Islam, the main religion of the islands.
