Ethiopia's green, yellow and red inspired flags all across the continent — they're known as the Pan-African colours.
The star stands for unity and a bright future, the rays for prosperity, and blue for peace — the emblem was added in 1996.
Coffee was discovered in Ethiopia — legend says a goat herder noticed his goats dancing after eating coffee berries!
Ethiopia is Africa's oldest independent country — it was never colonised.
