🌍 Flag facts
The gold crown was added to the flag in 1937. It stands for the royal family — Liechtenstein is a principality, ruled by a prince.
The blue stands for the sky and the red for the glowing fires lit in people's homes in the evening.
The crown was added after Liechtenstein discovered its flag looked exactly the same as Haiti's at the 1936 Olympics! The crown made it unique.
Liechtenstein is a tiny country in the Alps between Switzerland and Austria. It's so small you can walk across it in a few hours, and it has no airport.
