🌍 Flag facts
The big star under the Union Jack is the Commonwealth Star. It has seven points — one for each of the six states, and one for the territories.
The five stars on the right are the Southern Cross, a constellation you can only see from the southern half of the world.
Look closely — four of the Southern Cross stars have seven points, but the small one has only five.
Australia is the only country that is also a continent, and it's home to animals found nowhere else, like kangaroos, koalas and platypuses.
