The dragon is Druk, the Thunder Dragon. Bhutan's own name for itself is Druk Yul — "Land of the Thunder Dragon".

Look at the dragon's claws — it is clutching jewels, which stand for the country's wealth. Its snarling mouth shows it protecting Bhutan.

Yellow stands for the king and orange for Buddhist tradition, while the dragon is white for purity and loyalty.

Bhutan is high in the Himalayas and is the only country in the world that is carbon negative — its forests soak up more carbon than the country produces.
