🌍 Flag facts
The triangle in the middle shows five volcanoes, standing for the five countries of Central America that were once joined together.
Above the volcanoes is a rainbow and a red cap of liberty, symbols of peace and freedom. Around the triangle are the words "República de Nicaragua, América Central".
Nicaragua's two blue stripes stand for the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea on either side of the country, and the white stands for peace and the land.
Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, full of volcanoes, lakes and rainforests. It's home to colourful parrots, monkeys and turtles.
