Switzerland's flag is a perfect square, not a rectangle! Only one other country in the world — Vatican City — also has a square flag.
The white cross has been a symbol of Switzerland for hundreds of years. Its arms are exactly the same length, all a little longer than they are wide.
The famous Red Cross charity, which helps people in wars and disasters, chose its symbol — a red cross on white — by simply flipping Switzerland's colours, since it was founded there in 1863.
Switzerland is a mountainous country in the middle of Europe, home to the Alps, chocolate, cheese, cuckoo clocks, and four official languages: German, French, Italian and Romansh.
