🌍 Flag facts
The name Tajik is often linked to the Persian word taj, which means crown. The golden crown on the flag stands for the country and its people.
The seven stars sit in an arc above the crown. Seven is a special number in Tajik tradition, and old stories tell of a heaven with seven beautiful gardens.
Red is often said to stand for the sun and unity, white for cotton and the snowy mountains, and green for the country's fertile valleys.
Tajikistan is a mountainous country in Central Asia, and over 90% of the land is mountains! It's home to the Pamir range, sometimes called the 'Roof of the World'.
