🌍 Flag facts
The two blue stripes stand for the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, and the white stripe stands for peace.
This is the state flag. Its coat of arms has five volcanoes inside a triangle, a red cap of liberty, a rainbow and the date 15 September 1821, when Central America declared independence.
El Salvador is the smallest country in Central America, but one of the most crowded. It sits on the Pacific coast between Guatemala and Honduras.
It's nicknamed the 'Land of Volcanoes' because it has so many — around twenty — and some are still active today.
