๐ŸŒ Flag facts
๐ŸŒณ
The tree in the middle is a silk-cotton tree (also called a God tree). An important treaty was once signed under one of these trees.
โญ
The six stars above the tree stand for the mainland part of the country and its five islands.
๐ŸŽจ
The colours mean: green for the forests, blue for the sea that links the islands to the mainland, white for peace and red for the fight for independence.

Equatorial Guinea is the only country in Africa where Spanish is an official language, a reminder of its history. It sits on the west coast, near the equator.
