The three towers on the flag are real! They stand on the three peaks of Mount Titano and are called Guaita, Cesta and Montale. You can still visit them today.
The word on the scroll is 'LIBERTAS', which means liberty (freedom). The white stands for peace and the clouds, and the blue for the sky.
San Marino is one of the smallest countries in the world — you could drive across it in about 20 minutes! It sits completely surrounded by Italy.
San Marino says it is the oldest republic in the world, founded way back in the year 301 — over 1,700 years ago — by a stonemason named Marinus.
