๐ฌ๐งThe Union Jack is three flags in one: the upright cross of St George (England), the white diagonal cross of St Andrew (Scotland) and the red diagonal cross of St Patrick (Ireland).
๐ดWales isn't in the flag โ when the first Union flag was created in 1606, Wales was already joined with England, so it was never given its own cross.
๐The flag is not symmetrical. Look at the side nearest the flagpole and you'll see the wide white stripe sits above the red one โ flying it the other way up is considered wrong.
๐Look for the Union Jack in the corner of other flags too โ Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tuvalu all include it.
