🌍 Flag facts
The golden Zimbabwe Bird is based on soapstone bird carvings found at Great Zimbabwe, an ancient stone city that the country is named after.
Behind the bird is a red star, often said to stand for the nation's hopes for the future. The white triangle stands for peace.
Green stands for farming and the land, gold for mineral wealth, red for the blood shed in the struggle for independence, and black for the people of Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe is in southern Africa. It shares the mighty Victoria Falls with Zambia, and its national parks are home to huge herds of elephants.
