🌍 Flag facts
In the middle is a golden-brown eagle holding a cross in its beak, a green olive branch in one claw and a sceptre in the other.
On the eagle's shield is the head of an aurochs, a huge wild ox that once roamed the land, with a star, a rose and a crescent moon around it.
The three colours are shared with neighbouring Romania, with whom Moldova shares a language and much of its history.
Moldova is famous for its vineyards and wine. It has some of the largest underground wine cellars in the world, with miles and miles of tunnels full of bottles!
